The Road to NWG awaits

Nearly there (In fact it's begun by now). NWG2013 begins tomorrow and I've just finished my preparation. I'll be entering the Warmachine/HORDES tournament tomorrow, and have "volunteered" to provide my services as a bye-buster in the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 events on Sunday if I'm needed. If not, I'll have my Gators with me and hope to get in a few pick up games.

NWG Update II - The Bog Trog Theory

So NWG closes in on us and I'm still painting away. I've another eight figures to finish now that the Bog Trog Ambushers are finished. I've still to finish Calaban, Swamp Horror, Gator Doc and the second Gatorman Posse. The good news on this front is that all of the remaining models have had some work done to them so far. Of course, the next step is deciding on which warocks to take and what to back them up with. With 2 lists at 35pts, there's a lot of painted models that won't see any table time at the event.

Inquisitorial Guard?

As many of you who are regular readers will know, I'm currently involved in a campaign for GW's specialist game, Inquisitor. It's a cross between a RPG and a skirmish wargame, and we've been having a lot of fun with it. I've been reading some of the background material, and there's a lot of really cool stuff in there, and it's got me a little inspired right now (how long it lasts, I don't know).

On the 40K side of things, I've fallen out with tournament gaming. Now I know Games Workshop games are never going to be balanced, it seems these days that the game is worth nothing for it's own sake, and it's just a vehicle to sell models. The cost of maintaining a competitive tournament list has grown beyond my means, so I've decided to keep to casual, friendly games for now, and even then, I don't play every week any more, I'm playing more Warmachine/HORDES as I'm enjoying it very much.

NWG Incoming! Update

So, NWG gets closer and I need to get more work done on my army for the Warmachine/HORDES event. I intend to finish up all of my remaining Blindwater Congregation figures for the event. I'm doing OK so far, out of the sixteen unfinished models I had last week four of them have been painted fully, leaving only twelve more to finish.

Gabbin' about Gatormen : Bloody Barnabas

 photo DSCF0014.jpg

So last time out I talked about preparing some Gatormen army lists now that I have an actual collection to choose from. So I'm going to do an article on each of the four Blindwater Congregation warlocks, how to use them best and which models they synergise with best, concluding with some army lists at various points levels.
